Mattancherry Palace
Location : Mattancherry, 10 km from Ernakulam.
Visiting hours: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on all days except Fridays.

Bolghatty Island
In the historic town of Fort Kochi in Ernakulam district, the commercial capital of Kerala, is the Bolghatty Island - your destination of the month! This lush, lovely island is famous for its palace of the same name.

The Hill Palace Museum
Location : 10 km from Ernakulam town,central Kerala.
The Hill Palace, the official residence of the Kochi royal family, is today the largest archaeological museum in Kerala.

Koyikkal Palace
Location : Nedumangad, about 18 km from Thiruvananthapuram city on the way to the Ponmudi hill station and the Courtalam waterfalls, Thiruvananthapuram district, south Kerala.

Aranmula
This month, head for Aranmula. This small village is world-famous for its metal mirrors with no refraction, the Aranmula Kannadi kannadi means mirror in Malayalam). The technology for this is not used anywhere else in the world.

Thangasseri
Location : About 5 km from Kollam town.
Thangasseri was once a favourite settlement of the Portuguese, the Dutch and the English in succession, as Kollam was one of the oldest and most important port for international cashew trade on the Malabar coast.

Dutch Palace
Location: Mattancherry, 10 km from Ernakulam.
Built by the Portuguese in 1557 and presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Kochi, the Palace was renovated in 1663 by the Dutch.

Thrithala
Location : About 75 km from Palakkad on the banks of the River Bharathappuzha near Thrissur, Palakkad district, north Kerala. Thrithala is noted for its monuments and historic ruins and hence, has great archaeological importance.

Kerala Kalamandalam
Location : Cheruthuruthy,32 km north of Thrissur.
One of the most revered places for the traditional art forms of Kerala, the Kalamandalam is the cradle of Kathakali training in India.

Padmanabhapuram Palace
Location : In Thuckalay, 64 km from Thiruvananthapuram, situated in Tamilnadu, a neighbouring State.
Visiting hours : 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on all days except Mondays. A magnificent wooden palace of the 16th century, Padmanabhapuram Palace lies at the land's end of mainland India.

Krishnapuram Palace, Kayamkulam
Location : Kayamkulam, 47 km from Alappuzha.
The Krishnapuram Palace is a rare specimen of the Kerala style of architecture - complete with gabled roofs, narrow corridors and dormer windows.

Synagogue
Location: The Synagogue at Fort Kochi, about 10 km from Ernakulam town, central Kerala.
The Synagogue at Fort Kochi,constructed in 1568, is the oldest in the Commonwealth. Destroyed in a shelling during the Portuguese raid in 1662, it was rebuilt two years later by the Dutch.

Location: About 13 km from Ernakulam town.
